3 FTSE 100 Dividends Lifted This Week: Vodafone Group plc, Burberry Group plc And SSE PLC (Fool)
Dividends are raised at Vodafone Group plc (LON:VOD), Burberry Group plc (LON:BRBY) and SSE PLC (LON:SSE). With the FTSE 100 soaring to yet another 13-year high of 6,876 points yesterday, the average dividend yield of the index is down around 3% currently, with forecasts for 3.1%. But that does include some companies still going for growth and paying very low dividends, so if you’re looking for income you should realistically be aiming higher than that. Fortunately, we have a number of FTSE 100 companies paying 5% or better.

Vodafone Group plc (LON:VOD) opened at 194.00 on Thursday. Vodafone Group plc (LON:VOD) has a 1-year low of GBX 154.20 and a 1-year high of GBX 199.95. The stock’s 50-day moving average is currently GBX 178.. The company’s market cap is £95.411 billion. VOD has been the subject of a number of other recent research reports.

Vodafone to keep Verizon Wireless dividend (TheDeal)
U.K. phone company Vodafone Group plc (LON:VOD) said Tuesday it will hang on to a $3.2 billion dividend from Verizon Wireless, highlighting its need to spend to boost services to existing customers. Verizon Wireless, of Basking Ridge, N.J., is at the center of near-daily speculation about a potential $100 billion-plus buyout by majority owner Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) of its Newbury, England-based partner. Vodafone Group plc (LON:VOD) on Tuesday was mum about rumored talks. “Verizon Wireless is a fantastic asset that generates a lot of cash,” Vodafone Group plc (LON:VOD) CEO Vittorio Colao said, refusing to answer questions on a potential sale. “If there were anything to announce we would announce it.”

Rolls-Royce Holding PLC (LON:RR) congratulates the US Navy for achieving its first flight with the Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC)-built MQ-4C Triton aircraft. Triton, a high-altitude, unmanned aircraft, is powered by a single Rolls-Royce Holding PLC (LON:RR) AE 3007 engine. The aircraft is specially designed to fly surveillance missions up to 24 hours at altitudes over 10 miles high – allowing coverage out to 2,000 nautical miles. The advanced suite of sensors can detect and automatically classify different types of ships. The AE 3007 provides the fuel efficiency required as well as the electrical power necessary for the tasks.

Rolls-Royce recalls more cars in Australia over fuel odour (HeraldSun)
It follows two recalls at about this time last year that took in almost every Rolls-Royce Holding PLC (LON:RR) sold in Australia over the previous 10 years for a potential brake failure and fire risk. The $645,000 Ghost limousine is being recalled this time simply because customers may notice the smell of fuel when approaching their vehicles. The director of global communications for Rolls-Royce Holding PLC (LON:RR), Richard Carter, told News Limited: ”Australia seems to be at the moment the only country around the world to make this recall on a safety basis. It’s a minor fuel vapour venting issue. As fuel is naturally vented from the fuel tank when not in use it goes through a carbon filter … which removes any odours.
