Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA) CEO: Too early To Ban Human Driving

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO, Elon Musk, believes that autonomous cars might prove to be much safer in the future such that human drivers won’t be allowed to take the wheels. Self-driving is currently considered a novelty but the executive is of the strongest belief that it could become a common phenomenon in the near future. Speaking on Fox Business, Tech Trend watcher, Jesse Kimball, affirmed that in the years to come autonomous cars may prove to be too much to ignore but there is no way human driving is ever going to be banned.Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) TSLA Logo-Red

Autonomous cars are expected to be much safer than human drivers as the technology continues to evolve as more auto companies spearhead efforts on the same front. However, it may take many years to replace each and every car on the road with autonomous cars affirming earlier suggestions that the technology could first become a success in big urban settings.

“It is well into the future; he is enthusiastic he is promoting his business, it will be an urban thing absolutely. We will be able to visit New York City in five years and for the most part not drive yourself,” said Mrs. Kimball.

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has been upgrading its electric cars with more self-driving features as the automaker moves to lead the park with the driverless car technology. Its Model-S car already has autopilot features that can do things like braking, change the speed and even keep the car on the correct lane using onboard sensors.

The next step for Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) in its driverless car technology push is combining all the autopilot features and come up with a car that drives the driver. There are already reports that the giant electric car company could release a car that operates 90% on autopilot as early as this year.

“I think the word on the street from insiders and tech world is that the technology is there. It is baked; it is figured out; these cars are working they are safe they are far simply safer than people. There is reason to be very excited about this technology,” said Mrs. Kimball.
