Group accuses Apple supplier of labor abuses (KansasFirstNews)
A labor rights group has accused a supplier of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in China of misconduct including withholding employees’ pay and environmental violations. The report Monday by China Labor Watch said it found violations of the law and of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s pledges about working conditions at facilities operated by Pegatron Corp., a Taiwanese company. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) said in a statement it was “committed to providing safe and fair working conditions” and would investigate the claims. Pegatron, in a separate statement, also promised to investigate.
