Surface Pro Availability: Surface Pro Availability Update Straight from Microsoft

Surface Pro Availability: As you may recall, the Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Surface Pro ran into a supply shortage during its opening weekend. As you can imagine, this made a lot of people unhappy. While the company tried to spin the news to make it positive, consumers who were left without a device were not buying it.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)In an attempt to make peace, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has been doing a good job keeping people informed as to what is going on. It appears that they don’t want to upset anybody else moving forward, at least as far as supply and demand issues are concerned.

Here is an update direct from the company’s blog:

“Starting right now, you can visit the online Microsoft Store (U.S.) and place an order for the 128GB Surface Pro that will ship within 2-3 weeks, based on incoming inventory. Once inventory is depleted, the system will show as “out of stock” until new inventory is available to ship.”

Along with this, many consumers have a strong interest in making reservations for the Surface Pro. Unfortunately, there was not a lot of information on this early on.

Here is what Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has to say about making reservations either through a local Best Buy or Staples store:

“At Best Buy (U.S.): Inventory levels are increasing and many Best Buy stores have Surface Pro units for sale in store.  If the store does not have stock, you can reserve a Surface Pro (64GB and 128GB). Please note that Best Buy is only taking reservations in their stores for Surface Pro based on new inventory they know is coming in next week, so it’s possible that reservations could become “sold out”.”

“At Staples (U.S.): Many Staples stores have Surface Pro units for sale in stores.  If the store does not have stock, you can place a kiosk order in store to purchase Surface Pro 64GB for delivery.”

As you can see, Microsoft is at least trying to stay on top of things as they work through supply issues at this time. It will be interesting to see if the company is able to cut back on ship times in the upcoming months.
