Qualcomm Joins Forces With Advantech to Accelerate AI-driven IoT Applications

On Monday, QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM) announced entering into a strategic partnership with Advantech at the COMPUTEX 2025. The collaboration aims to accelerate the development and deployment of AI-driven IoT applications. Advantech is a Taiwan-based company that leads in industrial computers, IoT (Internet of Things) intelligent systems, and embedded platforms.

Earlier, on February 25, the company unveiled its Dragonwing™ portfolio, which delivers high-performance AI and ultra-low latency at the edge and is designed to unlock scalable industrial innovation. As part of this collaboration, Advantech will adopt the Dragonwing technology, including the Dragonwing QCS6490 processor for embedded modules and Dragonwing IQ8 and IQ9 platforms for edge AI systems and robotic controllers.

Moreover, to enhance developer innovation, QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM) is enabling Advantech to deliver a developer-oriented tool chain for Edge AI development and deployment. This toolkit will allow developers to accelerate time-to-market and efficiently scale intelligent edge solutions.

To put things into perspective, IoT (Internet of Things) is one of the fastest-growing segments of QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM). During the fiscal second quarter of 2025, the IoT segment grew 27% year-over-year to $1.58 billion. Management noted that they aim to achieve an industrial IoT revenue target of $4 billion by fiscal 2029.
