Apple Future Plans: Munster and Siegler Talk Apple

Apple Future Plans: There are a lot of people out there who claim to know what is going on with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). That being said, there are not many who have a clear idea of the direction in which the company is headed. Two people who appear to know more than the rest are analyst Gene Munster and TechCrunch writer MG Siegler.

Apple Inc (AAPL)Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is actually the smart money’s second favorite publicly traded company but hedge funds have started dumping Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in favor of a surprising financial stock (see which stock hedge funds are buying like crazy).

According to AppleInsider, these two recently got together to discuss the current situation Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is facing as well as what the future may hold.

Here is what Siegler had to say about the company as things stand right now:

“I’d say it’s mostly a media-driven anomaly right now. There’s definitely some truth to the idea of, you know, success: You’re as high as you can go. Where can you go from there?”

Munster, an analyst who knows quite a bit about Apple, shared similar thoughts as Siegler. He feels that a lack of new products may be giving the false impression that something negative is going on.

“I think it’s a cycle, They had an abnormally large amount of products that were released at the end of the year. So I do think that that, mixed with the executive shakeup, is changing way that their products are released.”

Something else that the two agreed on was the fact that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) needs to take a strong look at the low cost smartphone market, something that has fueled many rumors thus far in 2013. Here is what Munster had to say about a cheaper iPhone:

“I think the international markets, the lower-cost markets, are the biggest reason to be excited about Apple over the next few years. They can’t continue to expand like this with their current prices. Two hundred dollars in a lot of markets is a ton of money, and I think Apple historically hasn’t been very sensitive to that, but they’re waking up to that fact.”

There is no doubt that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has a huge opportunity to push its iPhone out in new markets, as long as the device is more affordable.
