Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) Hoping for Big Things with New Gaming Console

Are you interested in learning more about the new Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) gaming console? If so, you will not have to wait much longer. According to several reports, new details of the gaming console will be released by the company later today.

If you plan on purchasing the console the first chance you get, it is safe to say that you are keeping a close watch on what it is going to offer as well as when it is going to become available for purchase.

Microsoft Corporation (MSFT)At 10 a.m. PT/ 1:00 ET, we are going to get an update, direct from Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), as to what the new gaming console is going to bring to the industry.

Since Sony and Nintendo have already announced new gaming consoles, Microsoft has a lot of pressure to one up the competition.

A New Name in Store?

Some people believe that a new name for the next Microsoft gaming console will become reality. Here is what ABC News is saying:

“Durango” is but one of many codenames the next Xbox has gone by, and while the final name is still up in the air, the Internet has had a field day with guess-work. Reddit seems to believe that Xbox Infinity (or jokingly, xfinity) will be the triumphant title. “Xbox 720” has been kicked around as the logical successor to the 360 name, though fans, developers and domain registration documentation has also posited NextBox, Loop, Xbox 8, Kryptos and Yukon as potential nomenclature.”

With all this in mind, let’s take a closer look at a report from DigiTimes regarding when the new console may begin to ship.

According to DigiTimes, “sources from the upstream supply chain revealed that they are already shipping related orders in small volumes and mass shipments are expected to start in the third quarter to reach the peak in the fourth quarter.”

This timeline makes sense, as it goes without saying that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will want to take advantage of the holiday season.

The article went on to add that “Lite-On Technology and Delta Electronics are supplying the power supply for the next-generation Xbox, while Lite-On IT is supplying optical disc drive (ODD), Asia Optical and Newmax are supplying sensing lens, Foxlink is supplying connectors, Jentech Precision Industrial is supplying cooling modules and Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) is conducting assembly.”

It will not be long now. Within a few hours, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will tell the world what its new gaming console is all about. And if you believe reports from DigiTimes, shipments are already taking place.
