Kim Kardashian Wants To Save BlackBerry Ltd (BBRY) Phones From Extinction

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) were leading the mobile phone industry once upon a time when mobile phones was restricted to business part of the customers. But when the transition to smartphones happened, BlackBerry could not keep with competition from iOS and Android based mobile phone makers and lagged behind. Under the leadership of their CEO, John Chen they are again trying to regain traction in the mobile space, but it is not an easy effort to capture the market held by Apple Inc. (NASAQ:AAPL) and other Android phone makers. Meanwhile, a well know reality TV star, Kim Kardashian jumped in with support for BlackBerry Phones in a recent Re/Code mobile conference. Tanya Klich reported about this on the ‘Entrepreneur’ news.

“Kim Kardashian expressed her desire to become a tech model. In an interview with Re/Code the celebrity revealed that the BlackBerry phone is one of her favorite devices and she wants to buy the device maker in order to protect it from extinction,” Klich reported.

Kardashian talked in an onstage interview with Re/Code’s Kara Swisher during Re/Code mobile conference at California. She expressed her love for BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) phones. She mentioned during the interview that she still uses the BlackBerry Bold model which is not sold anymore in US. She said that she buys them through eBay.

During the interview she showed her interest in becoming spokesperson for BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY). BlackBerry appointed singer Alicia Keys as its creative global director in January 2013, but Keys split from BlackBerry during the beginning of 2014.
