Ken Griffin, Citadel Take a Stake in Cherry Hill Mortgage

Ken Griffin, Citadel, Cherry Hill Mortgage: In a 13G just filed with the SEC, Ken Griffin‘s Citadel Advisors reported a 7.6% passive stake in Cherry Hill Mortgage Investment (NYSE:CHMI). The mortgage investment company began trading publicly nearly one week ago.


In the filing, Citadel disclosed ownership of 573,691 shares. The initial public offering of Cherry Hill Mortgage Investment Corporation involved around 6.5 million shares of common stock at a price of $20 per share and ended last Wednesday.

Update: In a series of Form 4 filings just reported, Citadel has made a few changes in its Cherry Hill stake. After briefly upping its position above 600,000 shares, Griffin’s firm now reports that it owns 400,000 shares. This represents a little over 5% of Cherry Hill’s outstanding shares.
