Is This The Low Cost Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPhone?

Consumers and investors are dying to learn more about the potential for a cheaper Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone. Since Cupertino is keeping this rumored device close to its vest, the only thing people can get excited about is rumors.

Fortunately, there are plenty of rumors surrounding the potential for a cheaper iPhone. From ideas on pricing to what the smartphone will be made of, the more you search around the more information you are going to find.

This time around we are going to take a look at a story published by Apple.pro.

Like many sources, you never know if the rumor is accurate or not. That being said, any time there are images it is much easier to take the source seriously.

Apple Inc. (AAPL)When you look at the images in detail, which are posted on the following page, you will realize that the rear panel is just a bit thicker than the one currently used on the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 5. Many have also come to note that the curved back is similar to the 3G model.

Where is the cost savings? While it is hard to say what the iPhone is made of, from the images alone it appears to be plastic – which is what everybody is expecting.

Another major detail you will see in the photo is a Lightning cable attached to the back. This is not something that has been discussed in the past, so it will be interesting to see if this functionality is actually included in a cheaper Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone – if it ever comes to fruition, that is.

With so many rumors out there, and many more to come, it is hard to know what to believe as far as a cheaper iPhone is concerned.

There have been plenty of rumors suggesting that a new Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone, one that will cost less, is going to be released in the months to come. This does make sense, being that Cupertino needs a way to make up ground in emerging markets. With a cheaper smartphone, the company will be able to do just that.

At this point, nobody knows for sure that a cheaper iPhone would have to offer. That being said, it is safe to say that a plastic body will be part of the device.
