Is Google Inc (GOOGL) & Eric Schmidt In Favor Of Net Neutrality Or Against It?

Net neutrality is the hot topic among the cable companies and content providers as the Feds are scheduled to meet and vote on the new net neutrality rules on Thursday. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Executive Chairman, Eric Schmidt had earlier talked at the White House and claimed that the President is going too far with stronger net neutrality rules. But does this mean that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is against the Net neutrality? Brody Mullins of Wall Street Journal talked on Fox Business about his views on Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Net neutrality.

Google, Project Zero, is GOOGL a good stock to buy, deadline

Mullins said that Schmidt and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) are in favor of the Net neutrality, but he added that Schmidt was just against the stronger form of the net neutrality. He added that the Feds will be voting on the new stronger net neutrality rules on Thursday. He said that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) believes in open internet overall.

“Google and Schmidt are for Net Neutrality. What Schmidt is saying is what he is against is strongest form of Net Neutrality, which is the rules the FCC will vote on tomorrow. […] But overall the company believes in open internet” Mullins said.

No individual or the company has got hold of these new rules, which will be voted on by the FCC on Thursday. Mullins said that next 6 months will be very crucial for companies in understanding these rules and strategizing according to these new stronger rules.

Mullins said that he was amazed at the fact that one of the heads of a big company, had that talk at White House about Net neutrality almost a year back.
