Alchemy’s ubiquitous infrastructure and developer platform has grown since its public launch eight months ago to reach a $505 million valuation, CEO Nikil Viswanathan said in an interview. The round was co-led by Coatue Management, the tech investment manager led by hedge fund maven Philippe Laffont. Coatue also led a $305 million funding round in March for Dapper Labs, one of Alchemy’s clients.

But the fight over the media and retail company is far from over, even if Chief Executive Officer Arnaud Lagardere now faces an uphill battle to prevent a breakup of the company that bears his name. ivendi SA, a French media group controlled by Bollore, teamed up with the hedge fund Amber Capital U.K. LLP last year to push for governance changes at Lagardere, which Arnaud controls through an antiquated partnership structure despite owning just 7% of the stock.

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Swedish asset manager PriorNilsson Fonder has been dealing with a cyberattack that knocked out its e-mail server and back-office system, which forced the asset manager to suspend the buying and selling of fund units for about a week. PriorNilsson’s funds, which collectively had over SEK 11 billion under management at the end of March, are now open for trading again.
