Elliott Management, one of the world’s oldest and largest activist hedge funds, has pulled out of Hong Kong and will now manage its Asian business from London and Tokyo. The firm was founded in 1977 by US billionaire Paul Singer and has been present in Hong Kong for more than 15 years. Elliott Advisors Hong Kong has been without a head since 2019 following the resignation of former managing director James Smith. Its team had also dwindled in number over the last two years, halving from 40 to 20.

Before this latest buy, Eberwein made one other purchase in the past twelve months, buying $15,109 shares at a cost of $11.36 a piece. Hudson Global is trading up about 5% on the day Tuesday.
