GoPro Inc (GPRO) Shares Jumped By More Than 8% On Friday Following The Deal With NHL: Is It Just The Beginning?

GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) had recently completed a deal with NHL to bring closer and more real time action to the audience. Coincidentally this is the camera maker’s first deal with a professional league like NHL. With such a big deal the stock has to see a upside movement and as expected GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) shares went up by more than 8% on Friday following the news about the partnership. The partnership between GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) and NHL mainly focus on bringing real time action with more views and different angles to the audience. The financial terms of the deal between camera maker and the league is not disclosed yet. But GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) will have the liberty of becoming official partner for NHL players association. GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) will also get the brand exposure during live broadcasts and other social media and media events. GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) can show the footages in their YouTube channel as well.

NHL will be utilizing GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) cameras to get better viewing experience to the fans. First of all, these cameras was tested in Saturday night skills competition and subsequently it will also be used in Sunday All Stars game. How the GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) cameras will be used during the regular season is still an unanswered question.

GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) had a scintillating debut in June 2014 following which the stock grew by more than 150% in 2014. But it started dropping since the beginning of this year and dropped 23% so far. Following the deal announcement with NHL, the company shares went up by more than 8% on Friday and the investors and shareholders hope that this growth is just the beginning and the stock will continue to soar for rest of the 2015.
