Google Inc (GOOGL)’s CEO Larry Page Fast Forwarding Google Glass And Self Driving Cars

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)‘s CEO, Larry Page is finally tired of letting time take its course as far as Google’s futuristic products are concerned. In an attempt to free more of his time, so that he can take a more direct role in the development of the more exciting gadgets that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has to offer, he is designating his less important tasks to someone else. On Bloomberg, Betty Liu reported on one of such steps that Page has taken.

Google Inc (GOOG)

“[…] Larry Page giving his top lieutenant, Sundar Pichai most of the product leadership at the company, according to the people familiar with the matter. That move will free up Page to focus on the long term strategy […],” reported Liu.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s top priority is to stay ahead of the technological game, and that can’t be done by focusing on products that are in a way outdated. New products, which improve human efficiency in a way that nothing in the market does is where the edge of these technological companies lies.

After all that money that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has been pumping in its R&D division results should come in fast, and when they don’t CEOs like Page step in. Google’s self driving cars are one such technologically advanced product and the time that analysts predict for it to debut on the asphalt, without any safety concerns is in the bracket of 10 years. Page is certainly hoping to change that.

“[…] This is like Larry Page saying that I am going to dust my hands off things like search and engineering and Android, I am leaving that for this guy because I want to work on Google Glass, and I want to work on self driving cars and I want to do all the fun stuff, because, you know, he is the freaking CEO […],” said Liu.
