Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Traffic Slipping?

In the battle for search engine market share, we don’t expect Google to be challenged by the competition. And they aren’t (for the most part).

However, this doesn’t mean the company as a whole generates more traffic than any other search engine. According to a recent report by Brian Womack of Bloomberg, Yahoo attracted more US visitors than Google during the month of July.

Why is this a big deal? Simply put, this has not been the case since May 2011. In other words, Yahoo has been waiting a lot time to reclaim this title.

This data was compiled by ComScore Inc. and is sure to surprise quite a few people.

This doesn’t mean Yahoo is generating more searches than Google. It simply shows that the company’s web properties as a whole are generating more traffic. A win for Yahoo and CEO Marissa Mayer nonetheless.

Google Glass Coming to a Store Near you?

If you haven’t been paying attention, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Glass is beginning to receive more and more attention. This is definitely the case now that tech blogger Robert Scoble posted on his Google + page that Best Buy could be leasing space to the search engine company in the future so it can push Glass to the general public.

At this point, it is nothing more than a rumor. That being said, Scoble is well connected and his sources that that Google is renting 6,000 square feet inside every Best Buy store to sell Glass.

This makes sense for many reasons, including the fact that consumers are going to want to experience what Glass has to offer before actually plunking down a nice chunk of change for a pair of their own.

You can see that there is a lot going on at Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) right now. From traffic battles to wearable device marketing among other important projects, there is no slowing down now.
