Google Fiber TV: Google Fiber TV Now Offering 3D Channels

Google Fiber TV: Do you subscribe to Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Fiber TV service? Do you own a 3D television set? If you answered yes to both of these questions, you are going to be excited about this story.

Google Inc (GOOG)Google is one of the hedge fund industry’s most popular stock picks, and it’s always important to pay attention to the smart money (see just why here).

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has announced the addition of two 3D channels to the service: ESPN3D and 3net.

Here is some basic information from CNET:

“Subscribers to the Google Fiber Gigabit + TV Plan will automatically receive 3net, which will offer documentaries, family entertainment, concerts, lifestyle and cooking shows, and scripted series, all in 3D.”

“Sports fans who want to catch their favorite teams in 3D can grab ESPN3D for an additional $5 per month with their Gigabit + TV plan. Subscribers can call Google Fiber to sign up for ESPN3D.”

Even though Google Fiber TV has been around for less than a year, many are already falling in love. This is an upgrade for those who use the company’s Gigabit internet service.

If you want to learn more about this new offering, you don’t have to look any further than the official blog post from the Google Fiber team. You can read it in its entirety here: What’s better than two dimensions…?

Larry Yang, Head of Product Management, made the post, and here is one of the more interesting tidbits:

“We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again — we’re committed to making these qualities that you’ve come to expect from Google Fiber TV better and better. And, thanks to the amazing capacity of Fiber, we can also include some new experiences and tools that will make watching TV even cooler. For example, 3D channels.”

As you can tell, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is committed to taking its Google Fiber TV service to new heights. This is another step in the right direction, as a growing number of people are interested in all that 3D television has to offer.
