Goldman Sachs Upgrades ArcBest (ARCB) to Buy, Raises PT to $101

On Monday, Goldman Sachs upgraded ArcBest Corporation (NASDAQ:ARCB) to Buy from Neutral and raised its price target to $101 from $84. This adjustment reflects the firm’s broader strategy to increase exposure to the trucking sector. Goldman Sachs now has a more neutral view on the rail sector and rail-adjacent sector.

The firm operates on the principle of increasing exposure on the early side to transportation names that are likely to benefit from the next earnings upgrade cycle. Despite a challenging Q1 2025, where ArcBest’s net investment income declined and revenue dropped 7% year-over-year to $967.08 million, Goldman Sachs maintains a positive outlook. The analyst, Jordan Alliger, kept the EPS forecast for the next 4 quarters at $7.75 unchanged.

The company focuses on enhancing its operational efficiency and reducing costs, which enables better adaptation to evolving market conditions. The company notably improved the speed of deal execution by 31% through workflow streamlining in Q1.

ArcBest Corporation is an integrated logistics company that provides ground, air, and ocean transportation solutions worldwide. It operates in two segments: Asset-Based and Asset-Light.
