Facebook Inc. (FB) Raided by Rogue Chrome Extension

This might be the scary part of this hack into Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB). As the malware produces hundreds or thousands of automatic “likes” on certain pages, those likes make those pages valuable on the “black” market. Pages with a lot of likes become very visible across the entire social platform. There is a report that on a forum in Russia, a Facebook page with 100,000 likes could be purchased for $150,000-$200,000. That page could be bought and sold and re-branded to look legitimate – though it could sell counterfeit products.

What do you think? For Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) claiming that its Chrome browser is secure, does this reflect on Google for its Chrome or is this all about Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) and its exploits for the benefit of hackers? We’d like your thoughts about this in the comments section below.
