Energy Consumption Per Capita by Country: Top 5

3. Trinidad and Tobago

Energy use (kg of oil equivalent per capita) in 2014/2015: 13,489

Trinidad and Tobago is home to several energy-intensive industries including fertilizers, aluminium, fertilizers and ammonia, which is why it ranks so highly in our list of energy consumption by capita: top 20. Trinidad and Tobago’s per capita energy consumption is around ten times higher than that of the Latin American and Caribbean average. Meanwhile, crude oil production has fallen by more than half since 2006, due to a major decline in production of the Angostura field.
