EJF Capital Gets Into American Homes 4 Rent

American Homes 4 Rent, EJF Capital: Just now, EJF Capital announced owning some 9.97 million shares of American Homes 4 Rent (NYSE:AMH) in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. EJF Capital, reported a passive position that represents 5.4% of the company and has a value worth over $151.84 million. In its latest 13F, EJF Capital did not mention holding shares of American Homes 4 Rent.

Yesterday, the REIT, American Homes 4 Rent initiated a public offering of 5% Series A Participating Preferred Shares. Buyers of this type of shares might benefit from home price growth in the company’s top 20 markets. The gains from the offering will be used for the operating partnership of the company, which will use the proceeds to acquire new properties, as well as for general business purposes, American Homes 4 Rent said in a statement.
