E-Commerce is Where the Money is at, Insights from Vestige LLC’s CEO Johnny Dominguez

E-commerce has grown by leaps and bounds over the last couple of years, with more people than ever opting for the convenience of purchasing goods or services online and having their purchases (goods) delivered to their doorstep. Companies such as Amazon and eBay are popular e-commerce platforms, with billions of dollars in revenue and millions of customers. Entrepreneurs have jumped on the e-commerce bandwagon, finding ways to make a killing as retailers on e-commerce platforms.

We always love learning from entrepreneurs, and this week is no different. We decided to sit down with Johnny Dominguez, also known as JD Rex, a tech entrepreneur and founder-and-CEO of Vestige LLC, to learn a few things about doing business online and how anyone can make money off the internet with the right tools and mindset.

JD Rex

First of all, hi JD Rex, so good to have you here today

Hi! Good to be here.

Let’s jump right in; where are you from?

I was born in Cuba, but I’m now based in New Jersey. I’m, however, often traveling around as I have places in Boca Raton, Florida, as well as in New York. Essentially, I am ethnically Cuban but reside in the US.

What is your academic and professional background?

I attended the University of Central Florida, and studied computer science, attaining bachelor’s and master’s degrees as well as a Ph.D. I later joined the Metal Trading Institute to learn day trading. This, combined with my college degrees, inspired me to get a job as a trader, which I did for some years, and enjoyed great success.

What caused you to quit trading?

Well, I still do trade, though I do it on the side and also deal with stocks. However, in terms of my full-time job, I had achieved the highest level of trading and was earning seven figures, which was awesome. But I knew I could do more. I really wanted to be an entrepreneur – I had the entrepreneurial mindset and knew I could manage a team and influence the way business is done. Plus, I had a Ph.D. in computer science and wanted to actually use that!

So what was your next move?

I ended up owning or being a partner in more than 20 successful businesses. I gained firsthand insight into what it takes to be an entrepreneur. This experience greatly inspired me to do it myself, but now I also had an understanding of how to grow and manage a successful business. With this experience, I founded Vestige.

Tell us about Vestige.

Vestige LLC is a high-growth Amazon retailer that helps businesses increase their profits through online automation. E-commerce is where the money is at, not just for me, but for anyone who can effectively set up and run an online store. The issue is that many people struggle to effectively set up their store and spend a lot of time figuring it out, ending up losing a lot of their time and money. They end up giving up before they’re able to make a profit. I decided I wanted to help these people by creating Amazon automation.

We currently have 240 overseas employees and run more than 540 Amazon accounts. Due to COVID-19, we’ve seen a sharp spike in our sales, which is obviously great for us. I’ve been able to help many people quit their day jobs and live a better quality of life with ease. For these people, their primary source of income is what they’re getting through Vestige automation. That’s a good feeling.

What are your plans for the future?

I want to keep helping others achieve financial freedom. That is what drives me forward each day.
