Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev: Everything You Want to Know

This morning, we gave you a brief breakdown of Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, one of two key suspects for the Boston Marathon Bombing. Tsarnaev was involved in a deadly shootout in the Watertown/MIT area last night, where three officers were confirmed to be down, and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was killed.

UPDATE 11:45pm EDT: It is now known that the suspect is a Cambridge resident. Boston Police is looking for a Honda CRV with the MA Plate: 316ES9. Dzhokar Tsarnaev’s uncle, Alvi Tsarni, was interviewed by WBZ CBS Boston. “I don’t believe any of my nephews involved in this horrible incident,” Alvi Tsarni said. Another uncle, Ruslan Tsarni, revealed to CNN that the brothers grew up in Kyrgyzstan.

UPDATE 11:52pm EDT: The vehicle was found unoccupied.

Here’s an image of Tamerlan and Dzhokhar together, on the day of the bombing (via FBI):

While Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev’s older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, has been cited as saying things like, “I don’t have a single American friend, I don’t understand them,” the 19-year old has been called “quiet” by another student, Alyssa Eklind, at UMass Dartmouth. Another UMass student, Pamala Rolon, said, “He studied. We hung out with me and my friends. I’m in shock,” according to the Guardian.

Guardian sources also note that Dzhokhar’s father, via the AP in Makhachkala, Russia, that his son is “a true angel,” and an “accomplished” medical student. Dzhokhar’s father’s name is Anzor.

At the time of his brother’s death, Tamerlan was 26 years of age.

It has also been confirmed that both brothers are from Chechnya, and have been in the United States for 10 years, approximately.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is supposedly able to speak Russian, English and Nohchyin Mott, according to a social media profile we dug up:

Worth noting in this image is that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who also goes by Djohar, is listed as Single, has a birthdate of July 22nd, claims Islam as his religion, and in a rather odd note, says his personal priority is “career and money.” It is unknown if the FBI or other law enforcement officials are questioning any of his 83 “followers” listed on this profile.

It’s also within the realm of possibility that Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev was a wrestler at one point, according to this source. Here is a younger image of Dzhokhar, looking more like the image used in his “Djohar” profile:

In case you’ve missed what transpired at the Boston Marathon Bombing just feet away from where Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev and his brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, were, here’s a video recap, which we originally shared earlier this week.

We will keep you updated on the situation surrounding Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, but in the meantime, see our slideshow on the event.
