Dover Corporation (DOV) Raises its Dividend Again: What Investors Should Know

On August 10, Dover Corporation (NYSE:DOV) raised its quarterly cash dividend to $0.525 per share, up from $0.52. That is an increase of $0.005 per share. It also marks the 71st consecutive year that Dover has raised its annual dividend. That is a strong record and shows how much importance the company has placed on returning cash to shareholders over the years.

Dover has been a steady dividend payer for a long time and remains one of the companies with the longest dividend growth streaks in the market. However, a long track record alone does not guarantee that the dividend will remain sustainable, so its cash flow and earnings still need to be considered.

Strong Free Cash Flow Supports Continued Dividend Growth

Dover Corporation (NYSE:DOV)’s cash generation gives investors a good reason to be confident about the dividend. The company generated about $1.1 billion in free cash flow in 2025, which was 13.8% of revenue and more than 100% of earnings from continuing operations. Adjusted EPS was $9.61, while the company paid $2.07 per share in annual dividends.

Cash flow also improved in the latest quarter. Dover Corporation (NYSE:DOV) generated more than $188 million in free cash flow, compared with $131 million in the first quarter of 2026. That was equal to 8.6% of revenue. This gives the company some breathing room when it comes to its dividend. Dover does not need to stretch its finances to make the current payments, and its different industrial businesses give it several sources of cash flow. That also means weakness in one market does not necessarily put the entire dividend at risk.

In addition, while the industrial sector is cyclical, it has been performing well in 2026. The Industrials sector of the S&P 500 is trading at a P/E ratio above 30. That is much higher than the sector’s long-term average of around 20 and is a valuation level more commonly associated with high-growth stocks.

Cinthia Murphy, director of research at VettaFi, told CNBC that the industrial sector has not only outperformed the broader market but has also seen stronger asset-gathering momentum in industrial ETFs compared with recent years. Investors are showing more interest in long-term growth opportunities linked to the AI infrastructure buildout, as well as the aerospace and defense markets.

Industrial Cyclicality Could Pressure Cash Generation

That said, Dover Corporation (NYSE:DOV)’s exposure to industrial markets remains a concern. These businesses can be affected by changes in the economy. If manufacturing activity slows, companies reduce capital spending or demand falls across Dover’s markets, its earnings and free cash flow could take a hit.

That would not necessarily mean a dividend cut, but it could make future increases harder to achieve if the weakness lasts.

The latest increase is worth noting as well. Dover raised its quarterly dividend from $0.52 to $0.525 in August 2026, which is only about a 1% increase. This suggests management is taking a fairly cautious approach to dividend growth.

The important point is that Dover is not a high-yield dividend stock. Its appeal is more about dividend reliability and long-term growth than current income. The low yield of 1.01% actually provides Dover with some flexibility. Because the company is paying only around 1% of its share price in annual dividends, it does not need to allocate an unusually large portion of its cash flow to maintain the payout.

Conclusion

Overall, Dover’s dividend looks sustainable, and the bull case is stronger than the bear case. The company generates enough free cash flow to cover its dividend, has a long history of returning capital to shareholders, and continues to produce solid earnings. Its 71-year dividend growth streak also speaks to management’s ability to maintain the payout through different economic environments.

The bigger risk for investors is not an immediate dividend cut. It is slower dividend growth if industrial demand weakens. For investors looking for income, Dover’s cash generation and manageable payout make the dividend look reliable, although the company may continue to keep future increases modest.

When Jeff Bezos said that one breakthrough technology would shape Amazon’s destiny, even Wall Street’s biggest analysts were caught off guard.

Fast forward a year and Amazon’s new CEO Andy Jassy described generative AI as a “once-in-a-lifetime” technology that is already being used across Amazon to reinvent customer experiences.

At the 8th Future Investment Initiative conference, Elon Musk predicted that by 2040 there would be at least 10 billion humanoid robots, with each priced between $20,000 and $25,000.

Do the math. According to Musk, this technology could be worth $250 trillion by 2040.

Put another way, that’s roughly equal to:

  • 175 Teslas
  • 107 Amazons
  • 140 Metas
  • 84 Googles
  • 65 Microsofts
  • And 55 Nvidias

And here’s the wild part — this $250 trillion wave isn’t tied to one company, but to an entire ecosystem of AI innovators set to reshape the global economy.

It’s a leap so massive, it could reshape how businesses, governments, and consumers operate worldwide.

Even if that $250 trillion figure sounds ambitious, major firms like PwC and McKinsey still see AI unlocking multi-trillion-dollar potential.

How could anything be worth that much?

The answer lies in a breakthrough so powerful it’s redefining how humanity works, learns, and creates.

And this breakthrough has already set off a frenzy among hedge funds and Wall Street’s top investors.

What most investors don’t realize is that one under-owned company holds the key to this $250 trillion revolution.

In fact, Verge argues this company’s supercheap AI technology should concern rivals.

Before I reveal the details, let’s talk about how some of the richest people on the planet are positioning themselves.

  • Bill Gates sees artificial intelligence as the “biggest technological advance in my lifetime,” more transformative than the internet or personal computer, capable of improving healthcare, education, and addressing climate change.
  • Larry Ellison — through Oracle, is spending billions on Nvidia chips and partnering with Cohere to embed generative AI across Oracle’s cloud and apps.
  • Warren Buffett — not known for tech hype — says this breakthrough could have a ‘hugely beneficial social impact.

When billionaires from Silicon Valley to Wall Street line up behind the same idea — you know it’s worth paying attention to.

Even as we admire what Tesla, Nvidia, Alphabet, and Microsoft have built, we believe an even greater opportunity lies elsewhere…

But the real story isn’t Nvidia — it’s a much smaller company quietly improving the critical technology that makes this entire revolution possible.

And judging by what I’m hearing from both Silicon Valley insiders and Wall Street veterans…

This prediction might not be bold at all:

My name is Inan Dogan. I’m the co-founder and Research Director of Insider Monkey. I have an important message for you today.

Since March 2017, my stock picks have returned 16.5% annually. Today, I’ve found an opportunity even bigger than my British American Tobacco call.

Two years ago, Wall Street wrote off British American Tobacco (BTI) as a “melting ice cube.” The stock had crashed 40% from its peak, and consensus said the business was dying.

We looked under the cover and realized they were wrong.

We alerted our subscribers, and BTI returned 90% in just 16 months.

Now if you had invested just $10,000 in BTI in June 2024, you’d be sitting on $19,000 in October 2025.

Today, we have identified a nearly identical pattern in a digital-first giant trading at $3.

While the market panics over a surface-level revenue decline, our PhD-led research shows management has actually surgically cut $100 million in waste to focus on high-margin growth.

This pattern is a hallmark of our 16.5% annual return track record. The current opportunity offers a 400% upside potential—dwarfing even our 90% BTI return.
