BlackBerry Ltd (BBRY) Takes Down DTEK60 Preorder Page

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s upcoming DTEK60 phone was briefly available for preorder but the B&H preorder page has been taken down.

The DTEK60 handset was made available for preorder earlier this week but the company has since then removed the preorder page. The brief preorder availability might be a hint that the company might officially launch the handset sometime soon. It has been known for a while now that Blackberry has been working on the DTEK60. The company revealed the features of the handset earlier in September.

The phone appeared in a B&H preorder page a few days ago revealing more details about the handset as well as its price tag. An unlocked version of the handset will cost $499. The device itself has a 5.5-Inch QuadHD AMOLED display, a 3,000 mAh battery, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory capacity and a Snapdragon 820 processor. The DTEK60 will also include a 21 MP primary camera and an 8 MP front camera. The handset speakers are positioned on the front top and bottom part of the phone. Additional features include a USB Type C charging port and a fingerprint sensor.

The handset specifications make an appealing selling point and the price tag is also quite appealing. Unfortunately, the handset is no longer available for preorder since the preorder page has been taken down. However, chances are that the handset will most likely be launched soon. BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is also yet to make any announcements with regards to the launch.

Rumors about the handset had earlier stated that Blackberry would launch the DTEK60 on October 11 or October 17. The company is yet to launch the handset and so analysts are now waiting to see whether the handset will be unveiled on October 17. However, it is just speculation and not a guarantee.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) stock closed the last trading session at $7.47, down by $0.13 or 1.71% compared to the closing price of the stock in the previous trading session.
