“Today is a big day for the Mac community – we’re excited to announce that a preview of the new Office 2016 for Mac is now officially available,” states Microsoft in the blog post.

(NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Mac is powered by the cloud so users can access their documents on OneDrive, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint anywhere at any time on any device and the new apps offer full retina display support with thousands of retina-optimized graphics.

“The new Office 2016 for Mac includes updated versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook – and the moment you open any one of the apps, you’ll immediately feel the difference. We’ve modernized the user experience and made it easier to get things done,” states Microsoft in the blog post.

In Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac, Word’s “state of the art” editing, reviewing and sharing tools are provided to make word processing and designing of documents easy, with a design tab that allow users to manage layout, colors and fonts across their documents. Excel has come up with lots of new features in Microsoft Office 2016 such as Analysis ToolPak that offers a wide range of statistical functions, including moving averages and exponential smoothing and PivotTable Slicers.

The newly updated PowerPoint gives users more confidence and their presentations more style as it comes with a Presenter View which is like a mission control for users’ presentation with a new animation pane that builds presentation faster, and new slide transitions ensures the finished product looks professional. Microsoft Outlook has also been updated with improved conversation view and helps in managing emails more easily. With updated OneNote, users can capture, organize and share their ideas and use tags like “To Do” or “Important” or “Question” to add structure to their notes.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Windows, Apple Inc.
