Apple Inc. (AAPL) Faces More Competition Here

We are always bringing you news and stories regarding the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone and its many competitors. Since the smartphone market is always changing, always evolving, it is hard to say which competitor will rise to the top in the future.

Digitimes Research recently published an interesting story with some interesting stats: Taiwan mobile phone shipments rise over 40% sequentially in 2Q13

Apple Inc. (AAPL)When you think about, almost everything that happens within the smartphone market has something to do with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). Even when it doesn’t appear that the story is directly related to Cupertino, it can tie in somehow.

Here is what Digitimes had to say:

“Shipments of mobile phones by Taiwan-based handset vendors and ODMs grew over 40% sequentially in the second quarter of 2013.”

What does this have to do with Apple, you may ask? For one, the research goes on to take a closer look at HTC and its HTC One. Right now, it doesn’t appear that this model is any real threat to the iPhone and its market share. Of course, if HTC continues to push forward it may find itself making waves sooner rather than later.

Here is more from the research report, showing why HTC should be taken seriously in the months to come:

“Smartphone vendor HTC managed to solve issues related to the supply of some key components for its new flagship model the HTC New One and ramp up its shipments by more than three million units in the second quarter as compared to the prior quarter.”

As you can see, the company has straightened out the issues that plagued it during the first quarter. Now that HTC is back on track, shipments are going to increase by three million units in the second quarter.

This doesn’t necessarily mean HTC is going to move its way to the top of the smartphone market. It also doesn’t mean the company will do big things in every region throughout the world. What it does mean is that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will continue to face tougher competition as the days go by.

Many don’t consider the HTC One a serious contender for the top spot in the smartphone market.

There may not be reason to believe that this device is going to move to the top, but the heat is on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to show the world something big with its next generation iPhone.
