Tim Cook at State of the Union: Apple CEO Tim Cook Hanging out with the President

Tim Cook at State of the Union: When you are the CEO of a company like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), you are in position to take advantage of quite a few perks. For example, current CEO Tim Cook has been invited to attend the president’s State of the Union address on Tuesday.

As interesting as this may be, even more so is the fact that Cook was invited by first lady Michelle Obama herself. He will be sitting with her, in the first lady’s box, as the president discusses a variety of important topics.

As you may remember, Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of former Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Steve Jobs, attended the State of the Union in 2012.

Tim Cook holding chartWhile it is nice to see Tim Cook getting so much attention, for all the right reasons, he is not going to be the only one in attendance.

Cook will be joined in the first lady’s box by many others including military families as well as those who have had their life affected by gun violence. And of course, you don’t want to forget about Bobak Ferdowski from the Mars Curiosity rover team. It appears that “Mohawk Guy” has ridden his crazy haircut to new heights.

For more information on the State of the Union address, including details pertaining to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO Tim Cook, check out this article published by Contra Costa Times.

Here is a brief excerpt, explaining why Cook may have been selected to attend the event:

“Cook, the official said, heads a company that underscores America’s innovation economy and has said it plans to manufacture some Macintosh computers in the United States. Increasing manufacturing jobs in America is one of President Barack Obama’s economic goals.”

In other words, it would make good sense for the president to be on the same page with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) executives.
