Apple CEO Tim Cook: Earlier today, we brought you this story regarding Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL): Apple Inc. Shareholder Meeting Voting Update. As you can imagine, there is quite a bit going on at this meeting. For example, CEO Tim Cook has shared his thoughts on the Cupertino-based company’s falling share price.
Apple is actually the smart money’s second favorite publicly traded company (see why it’s important to pay attention to hedge fund activity).
As an Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) shareholder it is safe to say that you are not happy about the direction the company’s stock is heading. With this in mind, it is important to remember that you are not alone. In fact, CEO Tim Cook feels the same way – as well he should.
CNET has some more information on this. Here is what Cook had to say during the company’s annual shareholder meeting:
“I don’t like it either.”
Easy enough, right? He also added that the board and management feels the same way. It is easy for people on the outside to look and wonder if Cook is making the right decisions. While you may disagree with what he has or has not done, the fact of the matter remains that he truly cares about what is going on with the company’s stock price.
Here is some more information from CNET:
“Cook says what the company is focused on is the long term and making the very best products, and that Apple is working harder than ever and “has some great stuff coming.” He went over the company’s launches from last year, including the 13-inch retina MacBook Pro, which Cook says he uses every day. “We had the mother of all years,” he said.”
In addition to sharing information about Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) devices becoming available in Turkey later in 2013, he alluded to the fact that new products are in the pipeline. But don’t get too excited, he kept pretty quiet in saying:
“Obviously we’re looking at new categories, but we’re not talking about that.”
