An Exclusive Interview with Leading Cosmetic Nurse Practitioner, Anush Movsesian

Enhancing your natural beauty with cosmetic procedures is no longer frowned upon. Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but it is often sculpted, refined, and born behind closed doors. In 2018, there were over 17.7 million cosmetic procedures performed in the United States (see 15 countries with the most plastic surgeries per capita). Leading surgeons such as Aaron Rollins and Raj Kanodia have never been busier.

Anush Movsesian  is passionate about improving lives through the tools of her trade. We caught up with the lady praised as “one of the most sought after injectors and skin consultants in Los Angeles” to find out more.

Q: It’s great to meet you Anush. You’re a nurse who specializes in aesthetic medicines. Can you elaborate?

A: Sure! My philosophy is to enhance my patient’s inherent beauty and promote healthy glowing skin. I’m passionate about medicine and I’m passionate about aesthetics, and I pride myself on being a practitioner who can successfully merge the two.

Q: What would you say to critics who suggest cosmetic surgery is an exercise in vanity which leads to a superficial culture?

A: Woah! You’re sure not pulling any punches! (Laughs). I would say to such critics, live and let live. In all seriousness though, how we perceive ourselves and believe we are perceived by others is fundamental to our confidence. Having low self-esteem causes anxiety and all sorts of mental-health issues. If it’s a cosmetic issue causing this lack of confidence, then what’s so terrible about fixing it?

Q: So do you believe cosmetic procedures are inherently concerned with positively impacting on the life and well being of others?

A: You’ve nailed it. There are myriad ways you make a difference in the lives of other people. In my case it’s 20cc of botox meticulously injected with the sole purpose of erasing the effects of aging and accentuating the hidden beauty in us all.

Q: That’s quite an image. You almost come across as a  superhero, single handedly fighting the cruel hand of time.

A: (Laughs) All that’s missing is the mask and cape right? I’m no hero but I consider myself extremely fortunate to be in a position where I can use my skills to help patients reverse or slow down the signs of aging. It’s a rewarding role and one which is possible for the first time in history. We now have the technology to realise our aesthetic dreams, so let’s use it!
