Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN)’s Speedy ‘Prime Now’ Delivery Service Comes to Dallas

Prime Now, a one-hour delivery service offered by the e-commerce giant Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), has arrived in Dallas, a city with a wide metropolitan area that covers around six million people, and which is the fourth-largest in the United States. A CNET article reported on the news and discussed about Amazon.com, Inc.’s Prime Now delivery service becoming available in Dallas.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has announced today that it has made Prime Now delivery service available in parts of Dallas, which is a further expansion of its one-hour deliveries service, as the company had started providing this service in Baltimore and Miami last week. This expansion of the e-commerce giant is a part of its efforts in building up a strong logistics and delivery network in the region.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) launched its Prime Now rapid delivery service last year in December in areas of Manhattan, which allows its Prime members to purchase various items like batteries, paper towels and toys via a mobile application, after which the company began expanding its service into all of Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn.

Last week, when Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) had announced the availability of Prime Now in Baltimore and Miami, it was the first time the company had offered this service outside of New York City. Amazon.com, Inc. is planning to expand it into more markets in 2015 while growing the service further in Baltimore, Miami and Dallas.

Amazon is using its Prime Now service as another way to attract more customers in the market and to get ahead of brick-and-mortar stores by providing people a convenient platform to trade products and deliver their packages in the least possible time through its high-speed delivery service. But the company will have to face some strong competitors in future, as Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL), eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY), Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT) and Uber are also putting their best efforts into building their own services for rapid-deliveries.
