Potato Production in 2022: 18.060 million cwt 

Maine is the largest potato producer in the New England region and has a rich history in potato farming tracing back to the 1700s. Most of Maine’s production is concentrated in Aroostook County, known as the Potato Empire, which specializes in the Russet and Atlantic varieties.
