Total Dollar Sales: $739 million

Known for its high caffeine level, which offers a noticeable energy boost, Rockstar Energy Drink is a top selling energy drink brand, introduced in 2001. With total sales of $739 million in 52 weeks ending in April 2023, Rockstar—which PepsiCo acquired in 2020 for $3.85 billion—has great brand recognition and profitability. It commands a large portion of the energy drink market, by being available for purchase in more than 30 nations.

4. Bang

In recent years, Bang, a popular energy drink brand, has experienced impressive development in both sales and income. Strong 300 mg of caffeine, or about three cups of coffee, are packed into each 16 oz can, providing a substantial energy boost. But for some people, especially those who are sensitive to caffeine, this high quantity of the stimulant may have negative effects. There are several flavors available from Bang; some that have gotten good reviews include cotton candy, black cherry vanilla, and blue razz. 

3. Celsius

A well-known energy drink company, Celsius, places an emphasis on “functional energy” from natural components. Celsius Holdings Inc. experienced outstanding financial growth in 2023, as its revenue increased to $1.3 billion. Sales soared to almost 400 million units in Q3 2023, more than twice the amount recorded in 2021. Although there are some worries regarding the safety of the ingredients, overall customer evaluations are positive, with 70% of them supporting the product. Fans like Celsius’s clean energy boost, sugar-free recipe, and refreshing tastes.

Total Dollar Sales: $5464 million

Monster Beverage, a top selling energy drink brand in the US, set a record in 2023 with record net sales of $7.14 billion, up 13.1% from the year before. Gross profit increased to 54.2% as fourth-quarter net sales increased by 14.4% to $1.73 billion. With a 19.52% increase from the previous year, the annual gross profit was $3.794 billion. Sales in the Strategic Brands category, which includes acquired brands, decreased by 1.3% compared to the 15.1% gain in the core Monster Energy Drinks segment.

In 2023, Red Bull had sales of $1.71 billion in the United States, placing it first among the top selling energy drink brands in the US. In 2022, it made €9.68 billion in income from the sale of over 11.582 billion cans worldwide. Red Bull GmbH was founded in 1984 by Dietrich Mateschitz and Chaleo Yoovidhya. The Yoovidhya family currently owns a majority 51% of the company, with Mateschitz’s son owning the remaining 49%. While Mark Mateschitz’s net worth surpasses $20 billion, the Yoovidhya family’s is projected to be $27 billion.
