4. Republic of Rwanda

The Republic of Rwanda is a landlocked Central African country. Unsurprisingly, it has a GDP per capita of $912 but a relatively larger economy of $12 billion. Rwanda is also one of the more food insecure countries in the world. This is despite the fact that agriculture accounts for nearly one third of its economic output. The country’s food insecurity stems from the fact that most of its farms are quite small in size, with poor irrigation systems making farmers rely on seasonal rainfall for their crops.
