Loblaw Companies is a major Canadian supermarket chain which is among the biggest supermarket chains in the world. Additionally, Loblaw is considered to be the biggest Canadian food retailer, with some of its more popular brands including Joe Fresh, No Name and President’s Choice. While considered a favorite among Canadians, Loblaw has seen its fair share of controversy, with one of the biggest ones being Prime Minister Justin Trudeau giving the company $12 million to purchase new refrigeration units, even though the company is owned by one of the richest families in the country. Another controversy associated with Loblaw is price-fixing in 2018, to which the company actually admitted its guilt.
