Originally known as Baker & McKenzie upon its formation in 1949, the firm was renamed to Baker McKenzie in 2016. Over half of the firms deals are cross-border, and that is what it is most known for. It is a progressive law firm, announcing gender diversity targets in June 2019 to include equal ratios of men and women as well as a quota of flexible  individuals as part of their employments.
