5. Sri Lanka 

Mortality Rate per 100,000 People: 56.6 

Sri Lanka faces the lowest death rates from cancer with about 19,145 deaths out of 33,243 cases reported in 2022. Breast cancer is the most prevailing cancer in the country with about 26% of women affected. Lip and oral cavity cancer is the next most common cancer with an incidence rate of 7.7%. The total number of 5-year cancer prevalent cases is 86,508.

4. Congo, Republic of

Congo, Republic stands fifth among the countries with the highest cancer survival rates in the world. Congo recorded a total of 2,727 new cases in 2022 and reported around 1,732 cancer fatalities in the same year. Breast cancer is the most common cancer type, making up 530 of all the cancer cases. Prostate cancer is the next most prevailing cancer in the county with an incidence rate of 37.7%. The risk of developing cancer before the age of 75 in the country is 8.9%.

3. UAE 

Mortality Rate per 100,000 People: 55.1 

UAE has an age-standardized cancer mortality rate of 55.1 per 100,000 people. The country recorded a total of 5,526 new cancer cases in 2022 with around 2,283 deaths. Colorectum cancer is the most commonly prevailing cancer in the country with an incidence rate of 10%. Thyroid cancer is the second most prevailing cancer with an incidence rate of 8%. Females are at a high risk of developing breast cancer with about 1,142 cases diagnosed.

2. Nepal 

Mortality Rate per 100,000 People: 54.4 

Nepal has one of the highest cancer survival rates in the world. The country saw 14,704 deaths out of 22,008 new cases diagnosed in 2022. Lung cancer is the most common cancer in the country with a prevalence rate of 11% followed by breast cancer with a prevalence rate of 10.2%. Stomach cancer is the second most prevailing cancer in men after lung cancer with a prevalence rate of 10.9%

Mortality Rate per 100,000 People: 50.9 

Saudi Arabia tops the list for being one of the countries with the highest cancer survival rates in the world. Around 28,113 new cancer cases were reported in the country in 2022 while the cases of cancer-related deaths were relatively lower (13,399). The most common cancer in the country appears to be breast cancer with an incidence rate of 13.4% followed by colorectum cancer with an incidence rate of 13.3%.
