5 Best Ways to Lose Weight

3. Volumetrics Diet

Created by Barbara Rolls, a nutrition professor at the Penn State University is the Volumetrics diet. It is an approach to healthy eating by dividing food into four categories. Category one consists of very low-density foods such as vegetables, fruits, non-fat dairy, and broth-based soup which are low in starch content. Category two consists of low-density foods such as grains, cereals, legumes, low-fat meat etc. Category 3 consists of medium-density foods such as meat, pizza, cheese, bread etc. While category 4 consists of high-density foods such as chips, chocolate, butter, nuts, and oil. The volumetrics diet involves eating more of foods in categories one and two, reducing portions of category three, and strictly limiting category four foods. It is easily one of the 20 best ways to lose weight.
