Total Black Population: 224 million

Nigeria, the most populous black country and seventh globally faces economic challenges despite its large economy. Between 2000 and 2014, it enjoyed 7% annual growth but struggled with job creation and high poverty rates, expected to reach 37% in 2023. Nigeria is Africa’s second-largest economy, heavily reliant on oil, with limited refining capacity, and Lagos hosts its primary stock exchange.
