Lou Simpson, a former understudy of Warren Buffett, is the manager of SQ Advisors. Simpson has enjoyed great success running GEICO, returning an average of 24% annually.
SQ Advisors is run by the well known value investor Lou Simpson, who worked Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary Geico, before leaving in 2011. Warren Buffett himself has called Lou Simpson "one of the investment greats," once joking in a shareholder letter that "his performance made [Buffett's] look bad." That's the highest praise one can achieve, quite literally.
