J. Carlo Cannell founded Cannell Capital in 1992. Before that he worked at Dakin Securities, an investment bank in San Francisco, CA. He graduated from Princeton with an undergraduate degree. He also attended New College, Oxford, and studied business at Templeton College.

Cannell Capital operates out of San Francisco, CA, and has approximately (as of Sep 30, 2009) 168 million US dollars in investments in 85 holdings. J. Carlo Cannell states that his investment style stems from his observation of the natural forces at work in the markets, and to a certain extent, the world. Rather than predict which companies may grow, J. Carlo Cannell studies the patterns and shifts to get a good understanding of what’s happening now, where the market is headed, and what products or services may see popularity in the near future.

For the most part, J. Carlo Cannell’s guidance has pushed the company to invest primarily in small capital companies.
