Tesla to add charging stations (TheReporter)
Electric car maker Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) promises to boost the number of fast-charging stations in the U.S. and Canada to make cross-country travel by electric car possible in the next year. The company said Thursday that by the end of next month, it will triple the number of charging stations it runs from the current eight, and the number will go to around 100 in the coming year, putting stations within reach of almost the entire populations of both countries. The pace of construction is about twice as fast as the company had previously announced. The expanded “supercharger” network will allow owners of Tesla’s $70,000 Model S sedans to travel from Los Angeles to New York, probably by the coming winter, as well as make other long-distance trips. The Model S can travel about 200 miles, or for about three hours, when fully charged. With the network, it can be recharged to 50 percent of its battery capacity in 20 to 30 minutes, allowing drivers to make quick stops before driving on.

Cameron Diaz is dating a billionaire (NineMSN)
She’s a millionaire, he’s a billionaire – it’s always good to start a relationship with something in common. Cameron Diaz is reportedly dating Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, who’s worth a whopping $4.5 billion and is believed to have been the real-life inspiration for Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man character, Tony Stark. The pair struck up a friendship after Cam bought an electric Tesla Model S EV sports car earlier this year. Now they’re seeing each other so much, we can only assume it’s love. The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Elon regularly travels from Tesla headquarters in Palo Alto to visit his new movie star sweetheart in Los Angeles.

Rumor Has It — Tesla To Triple Supercharger Network Size (CleanTechnica)
I mentioned the news in my previous Tesla article earlier this morning, but that wasn’t the focus of the piece, so I thought I’d write another short one right now. Reportedly, Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk said at the AllThingsD D11 conference yesterday that he’d be announcing today that the Tesla Supercharger network would be tripling in size. Last night, I received notification about a Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) press conference later today, in which two or three members of the CleanTechnica team will participate. We’ll provide more details following that call. But the essence of it all seems to already be announced. The network is supposed to be tripled by next month… next month starting within just a couple of days.
