BlackBerry App Store: Research In Motion BlackBerry App – Polly Want a Cracker?

BlackBerry App Store: Last week, we talked a bit about the Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) BlackBerry app store and how things appear to be moving in the right direction. Today, we are going to take a closer look at one of the newest and most popular BlackBerry 10 apps.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)Parrot is an app that is exclusive to the Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) BlackBerry 10 platform. In other words, you are not going to have access to this app if you use one of the competitor’s operating systems.

If you want to learn more about this app from its official page, you can click here to do so.

Below is the official description of the app, giving you a better idea of what it has to offer on the BlackBerry/Research In Motion platform:

“Parrot is a FREE native BlackBerry 10 app that helps users quickly record, play and share voice recordings. It was approved on BlackBerry World just last night. These are some of the features:

Record audios tracks and see a live graph of your audio input. You can easily pause, start and stop any track as you record.

View a full list of your recordings, play them with a tap. You are full empowered to rename, share, copy and modify your tracks.

With two taps you can share any audio track via BBM, Text Message, Email, Bluetooth, NFC, BlackBerry Remember and more!”

As you can see, this is more than just an app for Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s devices that offers voice recording. It can do much more than that, such as producing a live graphics based on one’s audio input. Along with this, users are able to quickly and efficient share tracks via text, email, BBM, etc. This is an underrated feature that smartphones are technically capable of, but many, sadly, do not live up to the task.

With three taps of your smartphone, you can record, play, and share a sound bite. This process is much easier than that offered by similar apps on other operating systems. Searing Media did a great job with this BlackBerry/Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)-centric app, and while it has only been available to the public for a day, it has received a lot of positive attention.

Now, it’s likely that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) or Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android fanboys reading this don’t really care about any BlackBerry app, but it’s what Parrot represents that’s so promising. A note to all Z10 users out there, or aspiring Q10 users: are you going to give it a try?

DISCLOSURE: I have no positions in any stock mentioned.
