The value of its equity portfolio surged to $774.72 million from $29.89 million at the end of the third quarter of 2013. We have picked five companies in which the Hayman Advisors holds the largest long positions in terms of value.
The first one is General Motors Company (NYSE:GM). Hayman Advisors initiated a stake in the company during the last three months of 2013, and currently holds 4.61 million shares of GM, worth $188.25 million.
On the second position is Vodafone Group Plc (ADR) (NASDAQ:VOD), a mobile communications company, in which Hayman Advisors revealed holding 3.12 million shares, worth $122.73 million. The position has been significantly boosted from 1.35 million shares held at the end of the third quarter.
Paulson & Co, managed by John Paulson, held 20.0 million shares of Vodafone Group Plc (ADR) (NASDAQ:VOD), at the end of the third quarter.
Next on the list is NRG Energy Inc (NYSE:NRG), a wholesale power generation and retail electricity company. The fund upped its position in this company to 2.97 million shares from 1.15 million shares held at the end of the previous quarter. The value of the current holding is $85.31 million.
At the end of the last quarter, David Crane, President & CEO at NRG Energy Inc (NYSE:NRG), sold 554,515 shares of the company.
On the third spot is another new position represented by Kinder Morgan Inc (NYSE:KMI), a company that owns and manages a portfolio of energy transportation and storage assets. As at the end of last year, Hayman revealed holding 2.35 million shares with a reported value of $84.72 million.
Richard Kinder, Chairman and CEO at Kinder Morgan Inc (NYSE:KMI), purchased 828,324 shares of the company a couple of months ago.
PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust (NYSE:PMT), a specialty finance company, stood on the fifth spot, with a stake of 3.57 million shares. The position was added in the third quarter and remained unchanged over the quarter, the value of the holding, however, increased to $81.97 million from $80.97 million.
