One thing that will be missing from the renting option is the gold model that goes for $17000. All you need to do to test the Apple Watch upon unveiling, is to sign up with your email address and be notified when you can rent the limited stash upon launch.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) first product launch since the iPad in 2010 is already attracting interest Lumoid having received over 2000 orders for testing. Lumoid will rent the aluminum version of the watch for $45 a week, with users being given the option to buy it after testing. Upon testing, $25 of the $45 will come off the final purchase price if one decides to pay the full price.

“We have had the wait list up for over week now and we’ve had over 2000 email registrations. People are calling in they’ve seen it either in a magazine or in our blog, and they have just been like lining up to try out the device. It is a $350 minimum investment, so they all want to try it before they end up committing to buying it,” said Mrs. Aarthi Ramamurthy, Lumoid founder

The renting service company will also be renting the stainless steel version of the Watch for $55 with $30 of the renting price going toward the purchase price if one decides to buy it. Lumoid doesn’t have any formal relationship with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) meaning orders will be serviced on a first come first basis.
