FTC Google Settlement: Google Ready to End FTC Antitrust Probe

FTC Google Settlement: A couple weeks ago, it looked as if Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) was ready to bring an end to a two-year probe by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Unfortunately for the search giant, things did not work out that way.

Today, however, it looks like the end is in sight. Bloomberg has reported that Google will “resolve a 20-month antitrust probe by U.S. regulators today with a voluntary agreement and a consent decree on the company’s alleged misuse of patents.”

To outsiders, the battle between Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission may not appear to be a big deal. That being said, no company, regardless of size, wants to tangle with the FTC. This is a losing proposition.
