Facebook Inc. (FB): UK Women Target of Abortion Ads?

Ads seen on a Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) profile are targeted and very personalized; so the author thinks of these ads as a form of invasion of privacy. He goes on to say that these types of ads are “mistargeted.” Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) takes the official position of, “Advertising of Post-Conception Advice Services (PCAS) is permitted under Facebook’s rules, just as it is in print and broadcast media in the UK. Unlike other media, if people don’t like an advert they see on Facebook they are able to dismiss it by clicking ‘X’ on the corner of the ad.” Indeed, users can dismiss the ads from that advertiser at all times, or could just indicate having no interest in specific ads due to personal beliefs.

To be fair, however, these same women also note seeing ads for wedding dresses on their profiles, as well. So there’s that.

What do you think about abortion ads popping up on Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB)? And what are your thoughts about the Facebook ad-matching algorithm, the stock and/or the prospects of the company in the New Year? We’d like your thoughts below.
