In reality, the biggest financial winners of a decision to allow fracking in the state would be landowners, followed closely by companies that provide the necessary materials for fracking. The biggest name in that industry is Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL). Though fracking opponents probably grimace upon hearing the name, it should be pointed out that the company has gone to great lengths to make the fracking process more environmentally healthy.

Instead of waiting around for New York to make a decision, there are better ways to profit from the natural gas boom. One home run investing opportunity has been slipping under Wall Street’s radar for months. But it won’t stay hidden much longer.
