Believe This Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPad Usage Data?

Most people who closely follow the tablet market (click here for more info) are well aware that the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad lineup is top dog. Cupertino’s traditional size tablet, along with its mini, has been a big hit for many years. Of course, this doesn’t mean the market is slowing down elsewhere. There are many companies that are hoping to grab some market share from Apple in the near future.

A Leading Company Cheaper Than 90% Of Blue Chips... And It Recently Bounced 12%Chitika Insights recently took a closer look at the iPad’s usage share in May 2013, while also providing data on two of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s biggest competitors in the Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy.

Here is what the study had to say:

“Apple users are still prolific when it comes to tablet Web browsing, while Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Samsung’s Galaxy Tablet families remain in second and third place, respectively. Apple’s iPad usage share increased in May 2013 after a slight dip in April 2013, making its present Web usage share (82.4%) the highest since the beginning of 2013.”

As you can see, the iPad is not showing any signs of slowing down. In fact, Apple continues to push forward and grab onto a higher amount of usage share in the tablet market. Whether or not Cupertino can keep this up down the road is yet to be seen, but right now there is no reason to believe that the Kindle Fire or Galaxy will be able to chase the iPad down from behind.

On the next page, you will find a graph that shows usage share change over the past year. Here is more from the study, providing information on how the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad is currently performing:

“As can be seen on the graphs above, Apple’s iPad claimed 82.4% of North American tablet Web traffic, an overall share jump of 1.4% since January. Additionally, despite a month-to-month decline of 0.9% in overall share – users of Amazon’s Kindle Fire still generate the second most tablet Web traffic in North America, with a usage share of 6.5%. The Samsung Galaxy family of tablets claim third place, holding steady at 4.7% of U.S. tablet usage share.”

With so much usage share, Apple does not have much more to grab onto. At this point, Cupertino is likely more concerned about making sure the competition does close in on it.

The Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad remains dominant as consumers wait to see what the next tablet from Cupertino will offer.
