Apple RadioShack Partnership: Apple Throwing a Bone to This Electronic Retailer

Apple RadioShack Partnership: Do you remember the days when RadioShack was one of the top retailers in the world? While the company has held on over the years, unlike many competitors, it has also slipped in the mind of many consumers. Maybe Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) can help this electronic retailer get back on track.

Apple Inc (AAPL)You never want to downplay the power of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). Companies that get involved with Apple, regardless of the capacity, typically have the chance to increase revenue and recognition.

Take for example the companies in the Apple supply chain. When the tech giant struggles, these companies also take a hit.

And let’s not forget about the many app development firms that have hit it big thanks to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL).

With all this in mind, let’s get back to RadioShack.

If you visit this page on the RadioShack website, you will run into something interesting. The company is now selling Mac accessories for “home, office and on the go.”

Although the two companies have been working together for a few years, carrying both the iPhone and the iPad, this is another bump that should help the electronic retailer in a variety of ways.

Most importantly, this could help drive both foot and web traffic. Now, consumers have another option as they begin their search for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) accessories.

There are quite a few Mac accessories available for purchase, with some of the most popular sure to be the wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse.

For those who are worried that items are only going to be available online, you don’t have to concern yourself with this any further. Radio Shack has pointed out that the same accessories will be available at local stores. This is perfect for those who are in a hurry or don’t want to purchase online.

Right now, there is no indication that RadioShack will be selling a full line of Mac products at any time in the near future. However, this could be the lead in to this happening at some point.

Presently, the retailer sells computers from other manufacturers including HP and Toshiba.

With more than 7,000 stores throughout the world, both Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and RadioShack could benefit from this partnership as well as any additional deals that are worked out in the future.

This is a win-win situation for Apple and RadioShack. Apple is able to get its products to the public through another outlet, and RadioShack has another reason for people to visit its many land based stores and website.
